Because we advocate for the humane treatment of animals, we understand it's important to recognize when a pet’s health is beyond rehabilitation. Our staff is here to provide compassion and support when making this difficult decision.

Appointments are required and availability is limited. To make an appointment, contact our team. Due to limited capacity, appointments may not be immediately available. This service is available only to families who meet income qualifications - learn more below. Due to space constraints, owners may not be present during the procedure.

Qualifying Families

End of life services are available for families who meet one of the following qualifications:

Low-Income Household: Families qualifying for low-income status must meet the income levels below:

3 $85,000 or less $64,800 or less
4 $94,400 or less $72,000 or less
5 $102,000 or less $77,800 or less
6 $109,550 or less $83,550 or less

Government Assistance: Families who qualify are those receiving some form of government assistance. Examples include: Public Housing, TANF, AFDC, SSI, Food Stamps (SNAP), WIC, Free or Reduced Lunch Program, Medicaid, Section 8 Housing, Apple Health, PAW Team, EBT. 

Fees

Euthanasia fees vary based on the type and size of animal. HSSW also offers cremation options. To learn more, please review our End of Life Services information sheet. Fees will be confirmed with families prior to service.
